  • January 2007: Painting the town red with purpose

Yes, indeed, there are all kinds of reasons to throw a party. Colori, an upscale paint boutique in Bucktown, is “celebrating the color red” at a special pre-Valentine’s Day, in-store event from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday Colori Me Red, as the event is named, is free and open to the public. The event includes color readings for guests by Nourhy Chiriboga (owner of NOW Studio in Bucktown and the resident holistic healer); models wearing giant paint chips with accessories by Akira (another Bucktown business); gift bags; and food mainly by ZKF (a casual dining restaurant, also in the neighborhood). All through this week, 10 percent of purchases made at Colori will be donated to Go Red For Women, the American Heart Association’s movement to fight heart disease in women.
